| ATAPI Driver | |

The Plurix Operating System implements a persistent Distributed Shared Memory (DSM). The first prototype will provide persistence by a central node called Page Server. This Page Server will save memory pages on a common IDE hard disc. The goal of this semester project is to provide an ATA/ATAPI driver for the Plurix Operating System (OS). The driver should be able to control IDE hard discs, CD-ROMs and ZIP drives. Furthermore it should be possible to read and write the FAT16 file system (used for hard discs and ZIP drives). Hence future Plurix beta versions can coexist with Microsoft Operating Systems (within a file image) without requiring an own partition. Finally the ISO9660 standard should be implemented to enable CD-ROM access. Stefan Frenz - Semester Project
